St. Cajetan |
|
Born of Venetian nobility Cajetan studied law but turned down a government post to follow a religious vocation. He was ordained a priest and made a particular commitment to helping the poor and the sick. He founded a hospital for the terminally ill.
He also started a bank to help the poor as an alternative to usurers, which later became the Bank of Naples.
